Your Praise is a Weapon
If you thought confessing God’s word is powerful, try singing it! There is just something about singing that bypasses the logical mind that has the tendency to doubt. Words that are sung easily penetrate the heart and mix with faith.
Have you ever felt so down, but immediately felt uplifted after singing along to praise and worship songs? Singing praise allows you to cast off your burdens, turning away from your problems to behold Jesus.
When singing, think about Grace—God’s unmerited favor and lavish love demonstrated through Jesus’ finished work at the cross. You can also recall the times when He saved you with a mighty hand in times of trouble.
Never despise the simple act of singing. Judah sang praises about the Lord’s grace and mercy, and their vast enemies were miraculously defeated before them. Their valley of trouble became a valley of blessing. Instead of being outnumbered by enemy soldiers, they were surrounded by bounty that took three days to collect!
Today we don’t fight our enemies with physical swords. Our weapon is the praise in our mouths. When we sing praises, the Lord arises and fights for us.
